Four-star B&B in Shediac
An 1896 Italianate villa
A bed and breakfast is rather more than a bed and a breakfast. Still, we know those two matter most: our mattresses are top of the line, with quilted protectors and professionally pressed sheets.
Beyond their room, guests have the front hall, the parlour, and a kitchen of their own. The hall, with its grand staircase, antique organ, and oak escritoire, is the right place to write a postcard. The parlour is furnished in antiques, with a Mason & Risch upright grand.
The guest kitchen upstairs is air-conditioned and properly equipped: its own refrigerator, a full-size oven and range, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, and kettle. Make lunch or supper whenever you like.
Every room has air conditioning and a TV, and the Wi-Fi reaches every corner. The yard is ringed by trees some 130 years old, half sun and half shade. The screened veranda is made for a drink before the beach, or after it.
Five rooms make an intimate house party. Families gather here, wedding parties sleep here, and writers retreat here. To book the whole house, write to info@legriffon.ca.
Marrying at the beach? Le Pavillon Parlee, our event hall at the west end of Parlee Beach, opens in May 2027, a few minutes’ drive away.
For two decades the house was Maison Vienneau, a four-star inn kept with great care by Marie and Norbert Vienneau. We renamed it Le Griffon in 2017, after the Gryphon in Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, and kept the care.
Breakfast, included in your stay, at Adorable Chocolat, our chocolaterie and café.
Supper at Le Moque-Tortue, our bistro: lobster, oysters, and more than 2,300 board games.
A drive-in, a smokehouse, Parlee Beach, and three festivals in 2027.
